I am photographer and multimedia artist living in Southern California. Art has been my area of focus for as long as I can remember, but photography has come out being the only method I’ve found that allows to me successfully and comprehensibly communicate. Having taken photography courses throughout high school and college, it has been my central practice for 6 years.
Favorably, I shoot analog using 35mm color, as well as, black and white film while utilizing multiple exposures, an in camera technique, and post-process physical manipulations to construct nebulous and ambiguous settings. All which leaves something similar to the nature of a sentence unfinished or just a fragment of an idea; There’s something to be gathered that isn’t quite specific, but rather relies on the viewer’s interpretation guided by their own life experiences.
My camera has become my third hand that enables me to capture ephemeral instants and embody them; their haziness, while simultaneously expressing the fragility, instability, and eeriness of these moments in human existence. My photos are largely targeted at encompassing a kingdom I wish existed or duplicating dreams and memories, and urging those looking from the outside to do the same. I want to archive my life’s experiences in the world as I see it and in the way I believe it was meant to be seen: ominous, fleeting, and mystifying like the eye of a storm.
