Q1. What first got you interested in graphic design or art in general?
A1. As a kid my father would always take me to a local museum in New York where I grew up. The museum was full of old cartoons and show the history of how the were created, kind of like the Disneyland thing, but much cooler.
Q2. What is your educational background?
A2. I have a Batchelor Degree in Science of corporate Communications Graphic Design.
Q3. How long have you been a graphic designer?
A3. Unprofessionally, since highschool. I made some band T-shirts and posters. professionally, in college when I got my first internship.
Q4. Was art/Graphic Design your first passion?
A4. No, well simultaneously I wanted to be an english teacher. My first year or so in college I was figuring out how to get my teaching credentials.
Q5. What does your job entail?
A5. I design and program emails that are targeted toward a specific market and make them easy to read and function well. Basically those annoying emails you receive from Yahoo. Yeah, I design those for Netlife Investors Company.
Q6. Do you consider graphic design to be art?
A6. Yes and No. To me an artist is someone with total freedom to do whatever they want no limits and pretty much anyone can do it. While a graphic designer is an artist with limits. Not that limits are bad, they create a challenge and leave you to solve the problem. It’s art for smart people.
